Thinking back over the months as we’ve worked on this journal has made me realize how much I enjoy travelling at a gentler pace. In a car, everything goes by in a blur but we can still vividly recall the sights, sounds and smells of many of the things we encountered on our trip to Seattle. We look forward to spending more time in the saddle and have already begun planning our trip for 2006, extending southward to Oregon. Who knows, in a few years maybe we will have completed the entire trip down to Mexico, or travelled across Canada.
For myself (Andrew), I find that in my every day commute I ride as fast, and as hard as I can to get from A-B. It’s nice, being on vacation, with no real time-table and just riding at an easier pace. Amanda is great for making me take time to smell the roses and she is not only a terrific travelling partner, but a partner in life as well. Who would’ve thought that here we’d be a year later, still together and riding our bicycles more than ever!
