Coming This Christmas!
The Great Chakra Development Cycle

Early October 2016

After two months of recharge and bliss we headed out in search of our 13th Country.

What happened…

Amanda writes: Okay so you’ve already learned that we enjoyed our time in Vilcabamba. And while it was awesome it wasn’t without the occasional thought of other possibilities. By our staying here for as long as we have, we’ve essentially missed the season to cycle Peru and Bolivia. I mean we could do it, but it’d likely be raining and snowing and we’d miss some amazing views. Also things like the Inca trail and Machu Picchu can be seasonal. So do we regret being here for this long; not a chance. Everything happens for a reason and we were meant to do this. We were meant to build relationships with these animals and strengthen our own.

At one point I was also giving thought to what we missed in Ecuador. I did some lengthy research and even planned a six day bus trip back to Quito to take in the sights I missed. We don’t really have the option of doing them after our house sit because of VISA restrictions and we don’t want to be banned from Ecuador or have problems entering Peru, so I looked into seeing them as a normal tourist. At the end of my research I determined I wasn’t that interested. Many of the popular sights are similar to things I’ve already seen or things I’m going to see. You don’t hear too many stories of ‘you’ve got to see this in Ecuador!’. And so with the amazing set up in Vilca we stayed and enjoyed and now we were setting out our plans for Peru. We have many friends who are in Peru and Bolivia now who have leap frogged us while we are here. We see their pictures and read their stories and I’m looking so forward to it. Combined with that Nici and Philip are planning their timing so we can all ride out of here together. Yay! I get to hang with two amazing people again.

So our timing from here is we basically have one month to get to Trujillo Peru which is a fairly big city in Northern Peru. Our purpose there is a flight to Mexico where we have been invited to take care of our friends home in San Carlos again. We’re looking very forward to seeing our friends Glenn and Jennifer again and our four legged friends Lefty and Rex. We know it’s headed in the wrong direction but since we’ve missed the season already, it seems like a good place to kill some time while we’re waiting for the rain to stop.
