Description:

It may be incredibly thin and light, but MacBook Pro with Retina display is also incredibly powerful. To achieve all that in a single design required relentless focus and a willingness to make bold decisions. Every millimeter was designed, engineered, built, and assembled to the most exacting performance standards. Bulky legacy technologies like the spinning hard drive and optical disc drive were left behind in favor of newer, higher-performance technologies — PCIe-based flash storage, for example. Flash is much faster and far more reliable than a traditional hard drive. And it takes up 90 percent less space. Which is one of many reasons MacBook Pro isn’t just extremely capable, it’s extremely portable, too.

Intended Usage:

Surfing the internet, blogging, writing, working if required and staying connected to the world.  Oh … and video gaming for Andrew.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:

Nice and light and compact and pretty durable.  It doesn’t weigh much more than the iPad and because of it’s increased functionality we use it very often.  The battery life is terrific and if we blog daily for about a half hour we can usually go without charging it for about a week. We also find that the antenna for wifi is far superior that any other device such as the iPad, iPod or iPhone.

Final Verdict:

If you’d like to stay connected to the world and be able to use an electronic device, we recommend it.  If you are trying to choose between this and an iPad and already have an iPhone; get a Macbook.
