The last few days have been hard. Super stressed at work, super stressed at home. Amanda expected retirement to be long walks on the beach and margaritas. Instead, we spent 4 hours driving around yesterday and today, just spinning our wheels trying to figure out some storage options. We were going to shop, prepare, cook and dehydrate food today (and for the next 6 days) and instead we spent most of the day in a state of constant warfare. Angry words and tears, with cardboard boxes bearing the brunt of any physical damage. A truce has been established while we watch the Yankees play the Rangers.
On the bright side, we are fully packed (except food) and everything is piled in the living room. Family and friends are coming in the next day or two to pickup some last pieces of furniture. A good clean, and we’ll be out of the apartment on the 29th. Go Yankees.

As Andrew said it is very stressful at this point. Maybe I wasn’t expecting margaritas, but some nice wine and books on the balcony. I knew it would be hard, but this somehow is proving to be so frantic it’s hard to imagine how it will be fun at some point. No turning back now and so glad to have Andrew by my side as we battle through this. Here’s hoping the next two days are productive and I can have at least one glass of wine on the patio before we leave.
The calm after the storm…
Just some other things that we’ve really felt good about. We went to a wicked-fun going away party hosted by Megan and Paul. There was such a great turnout and everyone had fun. This was followed up by a weekend camping trip with the “B-Team”, our biking and drinking buddies. What a well needed weekend away from the rigamarole of home. There was bike racing, beer drinking, frisbee throwing and a good old fashioned cook-off. We’ll really miss all of you!
