Friendly Faces
Ricky & Robert Alexie: Ricky took his 80+ year old dad Robert out fishing, and they stopped in at the campground afterwards to cook up their meal, and share with us their catch. Back in 1959, Robert took a trip from Fort McPherson to Dawson City by dog team with his aging father.
“Old Man showed us the way to Dawson City. He wanted to see Dawson again before he got too old. So we made that trip for him back in ‘59, which is the greatest thing that we ever done. He taught us all the way over.” What an amazing tale!

What happened…
Andrew writes: We woke up to the sound of raindrops, and they only intensified as we lay in the warmth of our tent. We decided that it would be too dangerous to ride, and instead elected to take another rest day. Most of the day was spent in the covered shelter with the camp stove kept well stocked with wood.
Activities included reading 1.5 books, and Amanda beating me at a few games of cards. We also chatted with Stu and Sue from Whitehorse, who drive our old car, a Subaru Legacy, pulling a trailer.
