I’ve now had a couple of days to almost get back to regular life and I’m only left thinking about my next trip. This is a big step for me because after our trip to Seattle in 2005 I was left thinking, I’ll never do that again.
Highlights of the trip: Cool street names: Lois Lane and Never Give Up Road. Seeing other touring cyclists and chatting and riding with them. The two people in Quilcene Washington who cheered me on as I rode by. Andrew finding me at a local watering hole to have dinner. Arriving with no injuries and no flats. Very cooperative weather, no precipitation and great temperatures.
Lowlights of the trip: Having to do most of it alone. The ride along Highway 8 and 12 on freeway like roads and no shoulders. My life passing before my eyes as I got far too close to a semi-truck.
I would recommend this trip to anyone. While I’ve said doing it alone was no fun, it was nice to ride at my own pace and stop when I wanted to. The scenery was amazing and the opportunity to just pedal for hours and clear my head was wonderful. I found myself wishing I were riding further.

Until next trip …
